Starcraft II!!!!

I remember the first day… when I played Starcraft for the first time. It was way too much fun! Putting the Terrans against the Zergs and the Protoss was just way too much fun! That was year 1998.

Since then, the motherland Koreans have made the game their new “chess” and no one grows up without knowing it! It’s on freakin’ TV for crying out loud! Well, their zeal has paid off… as the great Blizzard Entertainment is bringing Starcraft II, baby!! 😀

I just saw the CG trailer and as the classic unit, Marine was putting its gears on, I was all riled up! And there was a gameplay video at high res (1280 x 720)!! OMG!! :O 3D terrains, brand spankin’ new units, old units with new abilities!! I was drooling!! I can’t wait to play this sequel!! 10 years in the making, I can only imagine~!!!!

Ooh… oh, and happy Father’s Day!! 😛

SCRAMJET testing done at Mach 10!

Reuters News

Wow!  Now it’s a live testing that completed the SCRAMJET (Superonic Combustion RAMJET) engine testing!  This is a monumental stage folks!  In the aerospace world, trying to provide engines that could burn fuel at supersonic (internally!) speeds have been very very very hard (nearly 30 years  of testing and theories!) so to me, this is a superb news!!

Hybrid Auto Sales up 53% … are you surprised?!

Daily Tech News Article

Shoot.  I hope no one is surprised!  😛  With gas prices around $3/gallon, if I were to buy a new car, I’d seriously consider hybrids… at least higly fuel efficient ones.  Gas companies and car companies alike should get the message to their brains… that we the consumers are sick of paying too much for the gasoline and that we want cars that are better at fuel economy!!

Time to dump my wife’s gas guzzler!  😮  😛

Working for government can be stressful

So with the OMS pod blanket damage, we’ve been super busy delivering all kinds of data, querying CFD solutions like there’s no tomorrow! Today was no different as a NASA customer requested for dynamic pressures at four corner points of the affected thermal blanket. Well, some …. difficulties arose. Provided points of interests were … to keep things simple, conflicting. And my lead engineer was almost panicking thinking that the data I acquired from the solutions for Mach 4 was… not so kosher. So we were putting lots of time to make sure and understand that the values I was providing were “reasonable”.

Time came to deliver the data just before I had to leave to go home so Soojin could go to work. Well, the NASA customer responded very fast with his estimates of the data! 😮 I freaked. I felt like I was taking something like SAT test or something of that significance!! When we finally compared the data, and saw hoe the two agreed very well, you wouldn’t believe my sense of relief!! Whew!! 😀 I was just feeling like a 5 tons of burden was lifted from my back! 😛 But it sure is stressful working for a government civil servant!

Crazily busy at work

Shoot… with STS-117 up in space, work appeared out of the blue!
It’s been hectic getting aerodynamic data on the OMS pod on the entry trajectory.

I am a bit tired as well… so no time for updating really… 🙁
But it’s a good thing. 😉

Pastor Shawn’s eMachines M5309 Laptop for sale!

Used eMachines M5309 Laptop. Comes with all 3 Restore CDs and was just restored to off-the-factory specs. All are same except the HDD was upgraded to 80 GB.  It’s his and all money goes to him of course.  We are asking $400.

Very used. Keyboard is a bit flimsy so I will throw in Microsoft Wireless Desktop 4000 in for free (comes with wireless keyboard and mouse but mouse is a bit finicky). Battery holds good charge and will come with Belkin Wireless Pre-N Network Card (Model F5D8010) and AC adapter.
