Things that make me MAD: Children taken away from illegal immigrants

NY Times Article

Warning!  You may become way too mad after reading the article!  I know I am!!    Illegal immigration is a hot issue.  Yes, I understand that.  And deporting back home is one thing but to take their children away from them while they are in jail?!  Who the hell gave these stupid judges the right?!

As a parent myself, I can NOT imagine anything worse than my kids being taken away from my against my will!  Yet, that’s what some of these judges (you know who you are, Judge David C. Dally and others) doing exactly!  Ok.. so they are put in jail for being here illegally but it does NOT give us the right to take their kids away and place them elsewhere!

The kids are happiest when they are with their parents.  And so are the parents ourselves!  I am really flabbergasted right now!  That judge is sooo lucky that I don’t live in North Carolina ’cause I’d be petitioning for his impeachment!  If we are going to deport them, do it completely and send the kids back with them!  Unless the parents are harming the kids, the right to the caring for the kids lies with the parents!!  I feel soo bad for the parents… My prayers go with them…  Someone with the power PLEASE make this right!!

Pathways Launch Service

We’ve been attending and being part of Pathways Church for just about 3 years now. And it has been anything but dull! We feel very fortunate to be part of this New Church Development of PC-USA. Pastor Shawn and every member has very unique contributions to the church.

Well, we have now come to the point of being able to officially kick off our existence to the community with a big bang through the launch service! Come one, come all! It starts at 3 pm and there will be concert as well given by Betty Soo (some of you may remember her from old UT BASIC days!) and local band TokensWay will be playing as well! Great celebration with food as well!

We will also collect donations to benefit Living Water International which helps building water wells around the world so that people have clean water to drink! 😀

Kids being Kids: Having fun

So I have asked God that my kids would be able to be just that: kids. And they have been. They love to have fun and it shows. Here are two video clips to prove it. I can only wish that I had that much fun in my childhood… and I am also very thankful that Anna and JJ can play so well together! 😀

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  Yeah… 2008!

Well, really, I don’t know what the big deal is since the concept of “time” is man-made and so we are celebrating what?  I don’t feel any different… but I guess I will play along.  😛

We had a good visit to my parents’ for Christmas and New Year… my kids had a blast with their grandparents and cousins.  I also got to see some good ol’ friends I haven’t seen in some long time.

– Won Suk Lee, 7 years

– Christine Cho, met her fiancé, Clinton.

– Kevin Wu, 1 year

– Woosuk Sohn, 12 years!

Wish I had seen more friends (like Kwon Young, Will, Paidow, Yuri, Boris, and Ben) but we all have plans and family.  We didn’t get to see snow either… so that was disappointing.  Now, I’m back at work and just blah-ing…
