Upcoming new Indiana Jones Movie!

So evidently, Harrison Ford is still not too old! Later in May 2008, a new Indiana Jones movie called “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” will be coming out!! :O Here’s the preview… I for one think it may be quite exciting!

Evelyn: Paternal Review

It’s true that life changes when you become a parent… but one thing I did not expect is the perspective on life… including the media.  Shiiiite… why does every freakin’ movie you watch have to do with something about fatherhood?!!

“Evelyn” is based on true story of yonder years when old and outdated law in Ireland prevents a father from regaining his children when his wife leaves him.  The sheer will of the father to fight the system to regain the only people that matter in his life, things climb up the ladder to the Supreme Court, facing for entire children in Ireland.

As a father, this movie was a heartbreaker.  I can’t imagine how crazy I would be if I were in his shoes.  As much as I could care less about Pierce Brosnan, he did awesome job in making me not hate him in this movie.  I can only imagine that I would go crazy if my kids were taken away from me and was forbidden from ever seeing my kids again.  It not only broke my heart seeing another father suffer, but made me furious at seeing how an entity that was created to watch over us, like a government, could become so heartless.

We have enough problem in this world where parents no longer want their children, and so we surely don’t need the world stop the parents that actually do want their kids from seeing them!    From the get go, I was biased towards the movie.  I will acknowledge that.  Yet this movie re-invigorated the true meaning of being a father, despite the odds, despite what others say.

A child’s life is hugely impacted, affected, and shaped by the parents.  I pray that I will be a one to match…  The movie is a must-see for anyone who is a parent or one who will be one.

The Pursuit of Happyness: Personal Review

I’ve been afraid of many things before… and weirdly enough, watching this movie is in that same place.  Wondering why?  It’s because I can see myself in that same place.  Losing everything, having nothing going right, and having to sacrifice just about anything so that he could provide.  For his son.

I cried practically from the get go of the movie.  I felt and saw every bit of this man’s struggles and heart tearing life… The last 5 minutes of the movie… was the best tear jerker in my life.  Fatherhood is something no man should ever think lowly of… he sure didn’t.

I can only pray that I can be that committed to my family and our well being.  I don’t own a home.  Life may be hard but I have a family to be thankful for… roof over our heads, food to eat.  Watch this movie … to understand the heart of a father.

The Astronaut Farmer – Review and Thoughts

So I got a chance to see this movie and watched it at first with reservation.

At first, it sounds like a whacked up comedy job, but as the plot thickens, I saw the dream and hope of one man, and his family. In reality, it hit home for me even more so because I have always wanted to go into space. However, chance of getting into the astronaut corps is worse than my becoming a doctor! So the fact that he’s an aerospace engineer like me hit me. On top of that, even more reality of the fact that he has a family to care for and responsible for hit even harder. Astronaut training takes a long time, and a lot out of you. I just don’t know if I could put my family through it.

In the end, I still cried for its touch on humanity, not losing hope, and chasing the dream caught my attention. The flow could’ve been better, but I didn’t watch it for that. Acting though was very well done, I must say. Dad was now a hero. Just for that alone, it was very touching. 4/5 is what I give it.

Transformers The Movie (2007): The Review

I still remember … seeing the movie … when I was 12 years old! It was beyond awesome! Megatron was still a gun and Bumblebee was still a VW Beetle.

Now, they are a plane and Camaro, respectively. Whoopie… I wasn’t too thrilled about it… but being a fan from the yonder years, I still had to watch it.

Thanks to local Chinese church’s VBS (Vacation Bible School), I had free time! So I went to watch it tonight. It was… ok. Too much modernization for me… I guess I will be cursed as the old school when it comes to Transformers.

*SPOILER ALERT*

They killed off Megatron way too easily and way too fast, in my opinion. Plot was just meh… I felt that the original animated movie had better plot. And the action was just too fast… didn’t have time to absorb the sequences at all. Felt like the second half of the movie was just way too fast paced. Die Hard 4 was better at that… oh well.

And Starscream was way more annoying!! Frenzy?! What the… Soundwave was da man! Oh well… Still, there is a difference between “staying up to date” and trying to “woo the younger crowd with latest CG by abandoning your roots”. In this case, they came *THIS* close to abandoning the roots.

Yippi-kay-ay, Best $9 evah!!

Oh. Wow!! 😮 I just saw this movie!! And if you haven’t yet, what the heck are you doing reading this?!!

Go see it! This was the best $9 I have spent on a movie!! This was a non-stop action entertainment!! John McClane does not disappoint!!

*SPOILER ALERT*

Oh, the jumps, the crashes, and shooting himself to kill the bad guy!! 😀 He still is the coolest cop on earth since Dirty Harry! No competition! Hands down… oh snap. I was soooo psyched, it’s the hands down best entertainment of the year!! Notice I didn’t say the best movie, but the best entertainment!!

I am impressed. This is the way to start the Independence Day, baby!! 😀 🙂 Wow… I’m so wired from the excitement!!
