Trip out to the Blue Bell Creamery & Bluebonnets

The state flower of Texas is bluebonnets.  And they are in season!!  We saw fields and patches of these on our trip out to… the Blue Bell Creamery!  It was spring break week so we didn’t realize that there would be a LOT of people!

The moms chatted.

This is the line accentuated with green color.

Max seemed like he was born & ready for Navy!

And they had their own moonwalks!!  But it was too hot to jump in them!!

And the family picture… wish I could’ve taken pictures of the inside… but 1) it wasn’t permitted and 2) there wouldn’t have been anything inside worth shooting.  The entire tour was a rather disappointing half hour or so.  I was hoping for more up-close-and-personal but oh well.  It wasn’t a total loss because …

These yellow flowers were EVERYWHERE!!  About 4 miles south of Brenham on 290 was this vast HUGE field of yellow flowers!!!  They were wild!!

And now onto the … bluebonnets!

And let us end with this shot of Soojin “trying” to jump into the air!  😀

Strawberry Picking Fun

I originally hoped to take the family up to Dallas to see friends and sightsee… but with the Shuttle mission of STS-119 being delayed and launching on Sunday, that had to be canceled.. or at least postponed.  So I started looking into things you can do around Houston area.  You’d be quite surprised at how many things there are to do!  One of those is fruit picking!  It just so turns out that there are lots of farms around the greater area of Houston that let’s you PYO (Pick Your Own).  Great website to look into that is PickYourOwn.org and it lists by counties and/or metropolitan areas!  For Houston area, look here.  It turned out that only one nearby farm offered PYO strawberry:  Froberg Vegetable & Fruit Farm.

At $1.50 per pound, you can’t beat that!  So off we went.  Younhe’s kids, Pastor Shawn’s kids, and Alison’s family all went!  And here are the pictures to prove it!  Kids sure seemed to have fun.  It was great to get out.  Starting in May, blueberries go in season!  😉  ’nuff talking.  Here are the pictures.

JJ enjoying the picking…

And the group picture to finish it off…  🙂

Anna’s Card to God

Kids are rather insightful a lot of times. I think it’s their untainted mind that allows them this capability. They will tell it to you like it is. No candy wrappers around what they say… unlike politicians or adults. Case in point – Anna loves to make cards for people. She normally makes cards for us but we found this one yesterday.

You have to pay attention to the details here. You see the nature on the card, right? The sun, sky, flower, and the land? There is a smiley in it… that’s God. Why? According to Anna, that’s because God is everywhere! 😀 That is just so precious! And on the back, the recipient and the sender…

We were so pleased… it made our day! I sure hope my heart will be as pure as hers! God is everywhere…

Myth Busters on Moon Landing: Is it a Hoax or Real?

If you are a sci-fi fan and fellow nerd, you know that we really landed on the moon. 😛 But people have been arguing that it was a conspiracy all along. Well, Myth Busters, a show on cable network somewhere (I think it’s on Discovery) proved that it’s real! Now go and weep! 😀

Gizmodo, my favorite gadget blog site, reports and shows some video clips.

  1. They proved boots can leave footprints on dust in vacuum surrounding.
  2. Momentum alone will keep the flag waving in a vacuum (no wind needed)
  3. Retroreflectors were left on the moon and they shot a laser at it to get signal back

So read and weep you conspiracy losers!! 😛 I guess those same people will move onto work on how to make Mars landings a hoax!

Datsun 240Z/Fairlady Concept Designs

* Picutre belongs to Iacoski Design

I’ve always been a fan of Datsun 240Z and Nissan 280Z/300ZX series… Now, Nissan brought awesome GTR (though controversial with unfair horsepower reporting) to the fans…

Then I found these mouth-watering awesome concept designs on Datsun 240Z/Fairlady! If you recall, 240Z had long hood and was fairly quick to its feet in its time. I really hope that they bring this to reality… ’cause I’d buy one in a heartbeat! This is also reminiscing of 240SX, also known in Japan as Fairlady.
