Part II: Please pray for Soojin

Well, as most of you know, Soojin twisted her ankle on Friday.  This morning, we went in to see an orthopedicist and it’s not looking good.  The doctor said that while the bones are not broken, the tendons around her ankle seem to be badly bruised.    She will be going to a hospital for an MRI hopefully later today…

If things look bad, the doctor says that a surgery will be required…   Thanks for praying for her…

Watermelons can crack?!!

As I talk with Soojin, all of a sudden, we hear this loud pop/cracking sound… so I walk over to see what’s going on… and what happened?!!  The watermelon we bought from Whole Foods yesterday cracked and was leaking everywhere onto the carpet!!

That stunk!!  Wow… this was my very first time seeing a watermelon crack in half and stinking up the whole place in 10 seconds flat!!

Please pray for Soojin… and us…

Well, as some of you may know (those who were at Wednesday joint Bible study), past few weeks have been just very discouraging to say the least… way too many things, both big and small, have been happening in my life…

Biggest is my father’s tumor in his prostate… not sure still as he still hasn’t gotten around to the biopsy… and Soojin’s mom’s health deteriorating due to liver functioning worse and worse…  Kids broke the mirror sliding door to the closet that cost $150 to replace… Soojin’s car needed brakes done … over $400… my car’s flooding did another $400 damage…

Tomorrow, we were going to attend a wedding of a very precious dongseng, Deborah Ahn, in Dallas… but near lunch time, I learned that Soojin sprained her ankle… if not worse.  She can’t move at all… Had to get her pair of crutches but no one carries the right size!!    When it rains, it pours…

I was still planning to go to the wedding with the kids maybe… but now Anna has fever.    So I have to stay and help out… shucks…  I guess God is trying to get my attention… I’m ready God…

My sinus pain behind my eyes are killing me… allergy season’s back.  Spent way too many hours fixing my computer after my video card died on me… There are whole lot more that are too many to list and some are too personal to share… but I strive on… as we had learned in Ethiopia… of positive living… and as Christine Ha had reminded me of it again today  Life is hard… but God is stronger…

Need rest… I just hope and pray that Soojin’s ankle is not fractured.

Three Days of Pool in a row…

Ever since Destin, the kids have been wanting to go back to pool…
So on Friday, while Soojin was working, I took the kids to the pool right next door.
They LOVED it!!    And we’ve been going back everyday since!

But I’m soooo tired… lots of sun and two demanding kids can be quite a tiresome workout…
It’s like I always say… “be careful what you ask for, ’cause you just might get it”.  I just forgot how much of work it would be taking them to the pool daily!

Nightmare on Peter’s Street

In my life, I had two terrible nightmares.

My very first nightmare was very weird.  I was on an old-school Korean bus traveling in Korea with my parents on it.  Soon, we got to this small town/village that was near a creek with a stone bridge that went over it.  I got off and my parents were gone.  I was at the one of the bridge that may have been at most about 50 yards long.  I saw a fairy at the other end so to get to it, I start crossing.

Next thing I know, she turns into a witch and blasts the bridge and I fall down into the creek with like 50 people!    And then out of nowhere I see sharks in the creek and people are screaming trying to run away from them and same with me.  I run along the banks and try to climb up… kinda like that recent Korean scifi monster flick “The Host” and … sweating, I woke up.

I was very much shaken for several days due to that nightmare… anyone else with a nightmare to share?
